In this talk, Dr. Mafunda will introduce new theoretical advances in graph theory by extending the concepts of proximity and remoteness to directed graphs. These distance-based measures help reveal deep structural properties of networked systems. The talk will also highlight real-world relevance by analyzing the Pacific Basin trade network, showing how these graph invariants can uncover economic centrality and vulnerability. This work bridges abstract mathematics and practical insights in global trade analysis.
