This workshop introduces students to the study of economics within the SBS Concentration and offers advising support for those interested in economics courses and in possibly pursuing an economics-related senior capstone topic.

The session will address course sequencing, academic planning, expectations for upper-division coursework, the capstone process, and career paths connected to economics. It aims to help students think intentionally about how economics coursework can support their academic interests, research preparation, and professional goals.

Objectives
  • Provide guidance on planning and sequencing economics coursework within the SBS Concentration. Introduce career paths connected to the study of economics.
  • Help students understand preparation for advanced study and research in economics.
  • Explain the senior capstone process for students considering an economics-related topic.
  • Encourage early preparation for faculty mentorship, research, and career development.
  • Answer student questions about economics courses and related academic opportunities.
