Campus Location: Student Center Conference Room 401 Event Type: Lectures,Undergraduate Program - BA Contact: hwu@soka.edu As the world becomes increasingly interconnected and multicultural, there is a growing consensus that learning a second language involves more than just mastering grammar and vocabulary. It also requires the ability to navigate and mediate between multiple cultures, identities, and social contexts. In this study, I examine education abroad as a potential turning point in developing not only proficient second-language speakers but also skilled intercultural speakers. Additionally, I explore the role of home-campus experiences before studying abroad in enhancing cross-cultural interactions and meaningful engagement in diverse environments.
