This excursion to Mission San Juan Capistrano and the Los Rios District introduces students to California’s foundational history and the heritage of the Acjachemen Nation. This year, the mission is celebrating its 250th anniversary. By exploring the museum and the historic Los Rios District, participants can bridge concepts they have learned and deepen their understanding of indigenous resilience. This trip offers the opportunity for SUA students to reflect on the local history of the indigenous land on which our campus sits.
