Careers pathways with the US Government

For domestic students, careers within the US Government offer a wide array of positions for Soka students and graduates. A degree in Liberal Arts is valued and qualifies you for positions requiring a Bachelor degree within most every US Government agency.  Working within a US Govt agency does NOT require your concentration be International Studies; rather most agencies are seeking a wide variety of candidates with a wide range of skills and interests. Example: the US Department of State and the USAID hires Social Workers, Environmental/Natural Resource officers, Economists, Financial Managers, Public Heath officers, Education officers, Humanitarian Assistance, etc.  The FBI hires more than "agents" or security specialist; including intelligence analysts, financial experts, scientists, and linguists.

To apply for jobs with the US Government you need a FEDERAL RESUME.

A Federal Resume is long and very detailed, and includes things like how many hours per WEEK your job/experience/internships were. Here is a good Webinar on HOW TO WRITE A FEDERAL RESUME
