Create technological awareness among SUA students
Code Soka will organize workshops as well as events in the university with the intent of encouraging students to learn about technology with the goal of building a technologically literate community ready to confront current social and global issues more effectively with their technological tools.
Bridge the gap between a Liberal Arts education and STEM
Technology is ever more present in everyday life. Therefore, the primary idea upon which Code Soka was established is that education on technology should not be exclusive to STEM. At university, where very few courses on computer science or technology, in general, are available, Code Soka will strive to bring technology into the context of a Liberal Arts education, always taking into consideration SUA’s mission statement.
Positively influence the technological evolution at SUA
Technology is always evolving. Through insights into current developments in technologies and technological practices, Code Soka will work with faculty, clubs, and SUA administration to promote integrating new technology into campus life.
