Domestic Students
MUST show proof of coverage of a plan which is currently active and
- Provides urgent and emergency care
- Provides medical benefit for injury or sickness
- Provides minimal essential coverage (Medi-Cal plans are acceptable)
International Students:
MUST show proof of coverage of a plan which is currently active. If the plan is an international insurance plan, the plan must meet the US Government J1 Visa minimum requirements and
- Have a claims payment office with an address and phone number in the United States
- Medical benefits of at least $100,000 per accident or illness
- Repatriation of remains in the amount of $25,000
- Medical evacuation benefit in the amount of $50,000 or more
- A deductible of $500 or less for each accident or illness
- Have a complete master policy written in standard English with benefits expressed in US dollars
