Beginning in Spring 2023, we started hosting our annual clothing swap

We have collected over 1,100 articles of clothing
Over 750 have been picked up by the campus community
Over 350 have been donated to various charities
Collection bins are place in every dorm and in the cafeteria for students, staff, and faculty to drop off clothing
A team of 10 volunteers go through a sort the clothing based on size. Damaged clothing is sent to be recycled through Usagain.
Volunteers put out clothing racks and tables of clothing for community members to "shop" for free!
Leftover clothing is donated to various charities including Laura's House and Friendship Shelter

Soka students travel to Calafia State Beach to participate in Coastkeeper's beach clean ups!
Students enjoy snacks and transportation provided by sustainability educators
After the clean up, students enjoy an hour at the beautiful beach before returning to campus

Campus members come together to watch movies about different environmental topics. After the movie, we discuss the themes of the movie and connections to our life experiences
